This Sunday, November 30th,, is the first Sunday in Advent and the time to start reading in Advent to Ashes! You’ll read every day until you get to the 4th Tuesday of Advent then skip ahead to Christmas Eve. This year you’ll skip three Advent days. Read the page on “How to Use this Book” on page xii. Next year it will be slightly different since Advent will start on November 29th.
Since Ash Wednesday is February 18th this year, you’ll stop reading Advent to Ashes on February 17th and start Ashes to Fire, Vol.2 which will take you to Pentecost. Ashes to Fire, Vol. 2 is currently at the publishers. I hope to have it out before February 18th! Of course both books are (Vol.1)or will be (Vol.2) available on Amazon.com. Both are also in the e-book version.
If you got the 1st edition of Advent to Ashes, (bought it before October 24th), there is slight date adjustment on p.413 in the Yearly Calendar. The Ash Wednesday dates are one year off! The date for Ash Wednesday in 2026 is February 18th. February 10th for 2027, March 1st for 2028, etc. Any book purchased after October 24th has the correction. The e-books may take a little longer for the correction to be made. Pass the word along. I’m working on Fire to Glory, Volume 3, Pentecost to the Transfiguration.
