I want to thank all of you who have shared the Advent journey again this year. As you know, or maybe didn’t, we have done “The Year of the Book” at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando. Since January 2018 we have focused on successive books of the Bible each of the 52 Sundays. (Yes, we’re fourteen books short which we’ll do next summer!) Beginning last January, the congregation read through the Bible during this past year. So each day of Advent, I took the text from a portion of that day’s reading in drawing the material for the Advent Devotional this year. Normally and next year, I’ll do specific Advent readings and themes.
Beginning in January 2019, our church is beginning to roll out a ten to fifteen year vision of where we are headed. We’ve been working on this endeavor the past year. As a result, for just this year, I will not be writing a 2019 Lenten Devotional due to the time involved in the vision casting. I will be back writing an Advent Devotional in 2019. So look for it around the middle of November 2019. Because of the extra publishing workload at church, we have done this Advent devotional a bit different this year and have published it with this website. You will be able to receive an email every day as in the past, or view the day’s devotional on this site beginning December 2nd. (The devotional for the day will become available at midnight eastern time for that day.) If you have any questions, my email is: firstname.lastname@example.org. Fill free to pass the link along to friends and relatives―sometimes those are even the same people!!

Our desire is that each of us would develop a pattern of spending time in the Scriptures each day as we anticipate God speaking to us daily through his Word. May the Lord bless you as you journey through Advent all the way to Epiphany on January 6th.
The Lord be with you,
